I would give no stars if possible. This book is poorly written and feels like it was written in an afternoon. The world was not well put together or believable. There are creatures that talk but besides being larger no real descriptions are given. Some creatures attack and some you make friends with? Also there is a god of darkness, period. Nothing is hashed out besides that and there was a war along time ago. The characters are all no dimensional and their conversations are so simple it is laughable. I only finished the book because it was incredibly short and I’m weird about not finishing books. I throw money away on crap all the time but with this I want my .99 back! The most infuriating thing is that the reviews are no doubt all fake on amazon. While I understand some people like stuff I don’t the reviews were 100%fake since they are just flat out lies. The characters are not relatable, the world is all over the place and not in a Malazan book of the fallen good way, and the plot was uninteresting to say the least. Do not read this book! Do not believe the reviews! I feel very manipulated and angry that the reviews convinced me to buy this book.

Aria Trevil dreams to be a warrior and fight the ur'gel, but she is consigned to be an apprentice healer much to her chagrin. She is neither talented at fighting or using healer magic. The history of her world is that there was a Dark War 250 years ago and ended with Dag'draath and his army imprisoned since then. Aria's crippled brother is kidnapped to force Aria to free Beru Halstead who has been imprisoned for 250 years using her untrained Dreamwalker skills she just discovered. She feels an attraction to him even before her brother was kidnapped and Beru is a puzzle. Is he as evil as history portrays? She picks up companions along the way, one a wolf shifter named Sade who is a monster hunter skilled in combat and wilderness skills and Astor an apprentice wizard. The one thing I would like to know is Aria's age as she seems to be younger than an adult. No cliff hangers, but the story continues onto the next book which I've ordered. The book price is a bargain.

Wow!!!I rarely give books five stars, there are very few that have that ‘honor’, but as soon as I started this one I suspected it would be heading that way and I was right! The characters were well flushed out and relatable, I totally had a soft spot for Aria. I think many of us can relate to that feeling of being stuck in what we are doing and wishing we could follow our dreams (no pun intended xD) and as someone who is fiercely protective of my own brother I felt deeply for her the whole journey! The plot was not only really well thought out. but executed greatly !I don’t like to give spoilers of books in my reviews, but I promise you that if you love this book as much as I did, you’re going to be jumping up and down at the end wishing for book two!Really great book!I received an ARC of this book and volunteered to review it ^_^

A fantastic read. As soon as I opened the book, This read grabbed me right from the start. Aria is a healer she is helping her family. All the sudden there place is attached and her brother is kidnapped and the only way she can get him out. Is to complete the mission of getting someone else released. The Author takes you into a fantasy world that you can see visually in your mind. And you really feel for the Characters. Some scenes you may need a box of tissues. Once I started reading I couldn't put the book down. Fantastic Writing. And an Epic beginningShauna Joesten

Aria is sent to learn to be a healer but all she wants to do is be a fighter. She also has what she thinks is a dream but finds out she's a Dreamwalker. They are attacked by the Ur'gel and they take her brother hostage because they want her to get Beru out of a prison but only a Dreamwalker can do it.She talks Sade, a white wolf warrior into being her guide to talk to another Dreamwalker. They also become friends on the way with Astor, a Wizard apprentice magic caused no mentor to go bald. She must decide whether to save her brother by releasing Beru from prison.I voluntarily reviewed this ARC book.

She's dreamed of being a great warrior...Instead, she becomes her world's worst nightmare...Loved loved this book - so well told.Very interesting and kept me entertained throughout my reading of this book.Well written. Lovely and interesting story. Excellent world building.Loved reading about this world. I must say I am definitely excited about this series and I cannot wait for the next book!A truly marvelous read.Perfect for readers of epic fantasy reads.

OMG, this book had action, suspense, and more. It was hard to put it down. I will say that I'm glad I read Falling Suun first, for the insight. Aria is learning to be a healer, even though she wants to be a warrior. Aria goes into a dream and meets Beru. Now that her village has been attacked and her brother taken she must make a choice. What will she do to get her brother back? Can she get help? What does Beru have to do with it? Who can she believe? I received a free copy for my honest review.

I loved the way the story kept me on the edge of my seat. I also really enjoy Aria's voice. She has such a huge learning curve ahead of her and it kinda hits her hard. She doesn't handle it super well at first, and I think that's what I like most. She isn't this perfect main character who just jumps up and instantly does ALL the RIGHT things right away. She has to really work at it.And she does. The world is fun. The action is great. Really enjoyed this story.
